Concert

LuLu's Playground

Thursday, September 12, 2013
Music begins at 7:30 pm
Doors open at 7:00 pm

Lulu's Playground consists of the unique instrumentation of trumpet (Adam Meckler), cello (Cory Grossman), accordion (Steven Hobert), and guitar (Evan Montgomery). This Minneapolis-based group was started by four old friends who go back to their school days at Lawrence University, and is now based in Minneapolis. Lulus blends jazz, classical and folk influences into an original chamber sound that is sometimes pretty, sometimes nutty, and always pretty nutty. They draw inspiration from such greats as Maria Schneider, Tin Hat, Dave Douglas, Bela Fleck, and Bill Frisell.
