Mary began her bass career in 1982, playing with various
jazz and orchestral groups in Michigan. Mary studied
music privately at Central Michigan University, while pursuing her degree in Biology. She was a
member of several jazz and orchestral ensembles during her college career, and continued performing while she continued her careers in the sciences. Music has always been a part of her life. Even during her careers in biology and occupational therapy, she always found a way to continue studying and performing jazz and classical music with her bass. Mary has been
performing in the jazz trio setting with her husband, Stephen,
since 2001, and is now co-owner of their business, Merrimuse Enterprises, LLC.
In collaboration with Stephen, Mary creates and produces
all of the artwork and marketing material for Merrimans'
Playhouse, The Merrimans, and Merrimans' Complete
Piano Service. Mary designs and maintains this website (a special thank you to David S. Hachen Jr. for providing many of the photos for this website). Mary also manages the office of Merrimuse Enterprises, LLC.
Rob has worked in collaboration with Stephen and Mary to produce Merrimans' Playhouse. Rob is an integral part of Stephen and Mary's efforts in producing this concert series, and his efforts are deeply appreciated. In addition to his insightful ideas, Rob has provided recording and technical support. Rob is the Assistant Management Department Chair, and Associate Professor of IT Management at Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame.
